Wiktor Svensson vs. Justin from NYC: MMA in Thailand @ BBQ Beatdown V
Wiktor Svensson is a BJJ Blue Belt under professor Gracie Barra Black Bely Tony Eduardo Lima from Brazil and former instructor in BJJ at Tiger Muay thai and MMA training camp, Phuket, Thailand. Justin is a blue belt under famed Renzo Gracie instructor John Danaher.
Tiger Muay Thai hosts monthly smoker fights allowing individuals the opportunity to compete in MMA fights at a beginner level. These fights are held every full moon and feature a camp all you can eat healthy BBQ and drink.
The fighters wore shin pads and 8oz “shooto style” gloves (Thai Rules) No knees to the head when the opponent is standing or on the ground. Knees are permitted only to the body from the standing position only like Muay Thai No upkicks, or down kicks from both combatants when a fighter is on his back. And no leg submissions, leg locks, heel hooks, etc.
Professional MMA Fighter Ray Elbe, and MMA Phuket head coach was the guest referee of the match a student of Juliano Prado of Lotus Club BJJ.
BTW: Justin took this fight on his second day in Thailand and very little notice. MMA Phuket would like to recognize him for his willingness to participate even though he did not have proper time to train or adjust to the jet lag prior to this fight. Talk about the heart of a lion! And Justin will be helping us with a Kettle Bell seminar as he is a professional Kettle Bell trainer.
